Kenny Lloyd is Jaded Poet's drummer.
He is a native of Ft. Collins, Colorado and began playing drums and percussion at age 6. He was a band kid throughout Jr. high and high school.
When Kenny landed in the real world, he continued his drumming and studied under the likes of Gary (Kidd) Curry, a world class jazz drummer, and long-time Tommy Boland drummer, Bobby Berge.
Most people are under the impression that Kenny is left handed. You look at his drums from stage front and heythe snare and high hat are on the left. "What the? Oh, he's a southpaw, a lefty, a left-handed drumming machine," you might say to yourself. Wrong. The truth is, and you'll only hear this here at the official Jaded Poet web site, that one of the band's stagehands is dyslexic. Seems he kept setting up Kenny's drums backwards. The band kept telling the kid to set it up right, but he continued to be confused. Well Kenny's such a nice guy he just decided to play the drums left-handed. "Problem solved," he said, after a ten minute ripping drum solo to try out the reversed arrangement. And he's been playing that way ever since.

Kenny has extensive knowledge of plumbing too. No, not just your normal everyday clogs in the kitchen. Try something a little bigger and more complex, like the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Although barely a teenager, he was there on May 31, 1977 when the last weld was made and was there less then a month later when oil flowed from the first pump station. He was also one of the brains behind the development of the Alyeskan Pipe Pigs, mechanical robots of sorts that travel through the pipeline performing maintenance.
Devoting himself almost full-time to the band, his days as a plumbing whiz are in the past; except when it comes to maintaining a good flow of beverages from the front to the back of the Jaded Poet tour bus. The band leaves that job to him and are grateful. Hey, this is a real do-it-yourself kind of rock band.
Kenny has found success playing with the bands Castle Rock, Mammoth, Frenz, Nebula, Lynx and Lash LaRue, and somewhere along the way, he was tagged with his nickname: "Mr. Bad."
Before becoming a member of Jaded Poet, Kenny logged many hours of productive, inventive playing time with Jaded Poet guitarist Muno. It was from this positive experience that made him a shoe-in when Jaded Poet needed a new drummer.
All of his life experience and professional endeavors have led Kenny to Jaded Poet. As the heartbeat of a hard rock band with a theatrical stage presence, a lot is demanded of him. And he delivers on all fronts—with the dynamic power of pistons in a supercharged 455 synthesized with the precision touch of a safecracker.
When asked for his musical influences, he simply said, "I kind of like the little plastic monkeys that bang on their toy drums," and walked away.
